How to Revoke Token Approvals and Protect Your Wallet

Token approvals are how protocols spend your tokens — and a top way wallets get drained. Audit and revoke the ones you don't need.

You'll need: A self-custody wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, etc.).

Steps

  1. Go to a revocation tool such as revoke.cash and connect your wallet.
  2. Review the list of approvals: token, spender contract, and allowance amount.
  3. Identify approvals you no longer use or don't recognize — unlimited allowances are the risk.
  4. Revoke each one (this sends a transaction; costs gas).
  5. Make it a habit: revoke after you're done with a protocol, and audit periodically.
Watch outRevoking costs gas and is itself a transaction — never rush it from a DM link. Go to the revocation tool directly, not from a message.
