DeFi Safety
What is Mempool?
The waiting area where pending transactions sit before a validator includes them in a block — visible to everyone, which enables front-running.
How it works
Because pending transactions are public before confirmation, bots watch the mempool to exploit them. Understanding that your trade is visible pre-confirmation is why slippage tolerance and private routes matter.
Example
In practiceYour swap sits in the mempool for a few seconds, visible to bots, before a validator picks it up and confirms it.
Can I hide my transaction?
Partially — private transaction routes and MEV protection keep it out of the public mempool. Standard broadcasts are visible until confirmed.
